Hello again! In today’s episode, we’re diving deep into a concept that will challenge your view of personal growth: the constant battle between evolution and erosion. Which one is winning in your life right now?
Evolution and erosion are both at work—every day—but here’s the thing: You get to decide which one has the upper hand.
By the end of this episode, you’ll walk away with clear insights on how to feed evolution and stop erosion in its tracks. I’ll break down:
- How evolution and erosion are constantly shaping your habits, mindset, and progress.
- Why every day is a chance to move the needle forward or slip backward.
- The simple actions that can immediately stop erosion and kickstart your evolution.
- How to reflect on your week and know whether you're feeding growth or decay.
- Why small, consistent efforts can make all the difference—even if you don’t see the results right away.
- How to overcome mental and physical inertia and keep your momentum strong.
- Why success isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, and you’ve got the power to control it.

All right. 3, 2, 1. Let's get it. Welcome back to the show. And today we're going to dive into a concept. It really hits home to anyone who's looking to push past their limits. And move past obstacles. And that's the constant battle between evolution. And erosion. Uh, titled this episode. Who's got the upper hand. Who does have the upper hand in your life right now? Deepak Chopra wrote evolution. And erosion. Are happening simultaneously. Now think about that for a second. Evolution. And erosion. Are always working. At the same time. When evolution has the upper hand. Things initially erode away. And here's the kicker. Time works in your favor when that happens. The bad stuff. The habits, the tendencies. The limiting beliefs. All of those things. Start to fade. But if you're saying things like I'm getting old. My body's breaking down. Technology is passing me by I'm broke. Then erosion has the upper hand. That's the hand you're feeding. And what happens when you feed erosion? It gets even worse. Things start to break down even more. Your body. Your mindset. And your opportunities. Poof. They all began to decay. Evolution and erosion are not an either or situation. It's a both hand. They're always there, but it's up to you. Which one that you're going to give power to. Time is either your greatest ally. Or your worst enemy. Depending on which side. Evolution or erosion. Has the upper hand. So, how do you make sure that evolution wins? If you're evolving. You're doing the work every single day. Doing things that move the needle, you're embracing discomfort. You're sticking to a process and here's, what's key. It's not about doing a million things at once. It's about doing a handful of things consistently that align with the person that you want to become. Whether it's getting in better shape. Mastering your craft. Eating for energy. Nurturing your relationships, managing your finances. It's all those little consistent actions. That push you toward evolution. And as you do this. Your old tendencies, the ones that hold you back. Those things start to erode. The habits that used to cope those behaviors that don't serve you anymore. All of those things began to fade away. And as you do something powerful happens. You stop living by the shoulds. You know what the shoulds. Are. I should work I should eat better as you hang out with better people. Instead. You no longer should. You just do it. Evolution takes over and erosion the decay that happens when the outside world keeps moving, but you don't. Bro that loses its grip on you. It's crazy, man. At first, the line between evolution and erosion. Is blurry. You might not even notice which one is gaining the upper hand in your life, but the truth is. Every single day, whatever you feed evolution or erosion decides whether you're moving forward. or falling behind. Now here's the beautiful thing. Erosion stops. The moment you decide to take action. Change starts immediately. You're not going to see the results immediately. But change starts immediately. The results take time, but the moment you decide to act and you put that evolution in the driver's seat. Sure there's going to be some mental. Uh, physical inertia that you need to overcome. You didn't get here overnight. You're not going to get out of it overnight. But you will over time. If you stop feeding the negative mindset. And focused on just a few things that you can do every single day. That moved the needle. That made progress. Even if it's an inch. You still win. What's key is. They can't give any of your progress back. Don't do that. Don't have celebration days. No, let ups know, treating yourself. Do that's going to derail your momentum. Remember the voice of condemnation lasts a lot longer than the voice of comfort. So that thing tries to whisper to you that you've worked hard. Go ahead and give in just this once. Just this once isn't a moment. It's a mindset. And when you do. You you cave to the crave. You fold. You celebrate. It seems comfortable for about five seconds. And then condemnation kicks in for five days. You may not see it right away, but trust me over time. Evolution will work for you. The change will come. Eventually and ultimately. is the timeline we're on. Everything that you've been working on will show good or bad. And if you keep feeding evolution, You're going to succeed, but if you keep feeding erosion, That's going to lead to destruction. It's a slow process. Yeah, but you ain't cheating it. It's happening. Either way. The results will reveal themselves good or bad. Now if you're frustrated because you're not seeing any progress. Or maybe really, if you're honest with yourself, you've seen that you're getting a little bit soft. I just want you to stop and reflect. Just on last week, not thought totality. Don't look at the whole mud. Don't look at the whole year. Just, just go back a week. Because what you did last week is probably what you did the week before and the month before. And the month before and the quarters. So just go back a week. What did last week look like for you? Was it a week of evolution. Be honest with yourself, man. This is if we're confrontation is so key, confront it. What did I do last week? Did I evolve? Honestly. R. Was there a week of evolution. Kind of had a pity party. Thanks for going good. So I just kinda said F it. If erosion had the upper hand. Just stop. Now plant your foot in the ground. And start making productive moves. Just take action forward. Don't worry about the immediate results. The results will come. You've seen that time and time again. And if you've been feeding the evolution, but you're just not getting the progress. Change takes time. Good. Our bad change takes time. Eventually. Nothing's wasted. All that effort that you're putting in there is getting stored. And it's going to reach this tipping point. That inertia is going to finally break. And ultimately. Everything that you've been putting in. You'll start to see the success. See the success that you have right now is not a result of what you've done right now. It's a result. Of what you've done for weeks and weeks before that. Same thing with destruction. The results that you see right now. weren't because of last night. There are a result of many nights before. That have led to where you are today. Erosion and evolution are working at the same time. Feed evolution. And the erosion. Will fade away. Just keep iterating, keep evolving. There's a great line from toll story. That'll love. He wrote. You may not know what to do in a specific moment. But you know exactly what you should not do. And if you avoid what you should not do. You'll automatically start doing what you should do. And those right actions. Lead to a good life.
